Differnces between CFTBL???
« on: June 03, 2012, 05:27:42 PM »
Hi guys just going over a CFTBL and have noticed a few differences between ones done previously.   This one has steel playfield edges instead of timber and there are pieces of a white water cabinet used inside the cabinet could this be a prototype maybe?

I've struck that too. Also noticed some have the printed backpanel & some don't.
No idea what went on though, I'm afraid  !@#

Not the first time I have heard about steel edges
someone suggeted they used them if the playfield was not as flat as it should be

Not a prototype.

Metal stiffeners were used on playfields that were warped so they could use them in games.

WMS recycled pieces of cabinets in that fashion all the time. Working on a WCS 94 right now that has a back panel made out of a WCS cabinet side, also had a Congo recently with inner cabinet panels made of TOTAN reject cabinet pieces.
