Anyone own a family guy...what are they like? I love the show and I'm curious about the game? Also what do you think they are worth?

4-4.5.

Solid Stern pin, not up there with the big guns of Spiderman, Simpsons, but the limited numbers in Aus can push up the price a bit.

Mini playfield is a neat little toy (and essentially the main toy of the game) but can be frustrating after a while due to the poor ball physics (if it has enough velocity, a lot of the time the lightweight mini ball will bounce over the flippers and straight down the guts.) You really have to employ a "catch and grab" play style for the mini playfield to successfully get all the mini pf ramps/loops.

Plenty of farting (Fart Multiball) and vomiting (IPECAC contest) noises in the audio if that is your bag. The modes and multiballs are stackable so listening to a machine simultaneously vomit and fart its way through a multiball sequence certainly gets the attention of everyone within earshot.  *)*

Clam shot behind the pop bumpers seems a bit of a design afterthought and nearly always gives fairly worthless awards.

The pop up ball save disc between the flippers messes up your gameplay in my opinion and should have been left out, (I guess they were aiming at a newbie player market.)

If you are a fan of the show that will probably carry some influence as your enjoyment factor of the pin.

Didn't do much for me personally. I thought the playfield was sparse (except for the mini pinball of course). And gameplay unexciting, mind you i dont watch the show.

Play one before you commit.

I really enjoyed playing the game, put a fair bit of time in on a local sited one when it first came out.  The mini PF has to be the coolest toy ever put onto a game.
Lots of great quotes, Funny stuff.
I am a little biased as I love the show, I think it a good game I would definately own one if I had the cash.

Great fun machine.
Very popular with any visitor to my gamesroom.
I had only seen a few episodes of TV show before buying the pinball, this made the soundbites even funnier.
Still hearing new soundbites after 4 years.
A keeper!

Same! Just don't see it happening anytime soon. Had to sell a kidney to get AC/DC Pro and would like another Stern machine in the collection, but could buy two older DMD machines for that money.....the other factor is that Family Guy doesn't come up too often. Be selective or buy a European container version if they ever appear?

Cheers!
Adam.

Poses the question, what is the better 'investment' out of FG and Shrek?

Both the same I reckon. Buy the theme you like better because they're essentially the same game and both aren't made anymore. I'm warming to Shrek the more I see it, but a Family Guy fan through and through (watched every episode from day one), so that's where my choice would lie.

Software by Keith Johnson 'nuff said. Who is he working for now?  *%*

I would pick FG over Shrek in terms of longevity, but as said before it all depends on your taste.

Plus the ROMS are interchangeable between the two (best of both worlds scenario):
