Tempered stainless steel for ramp flaps
« on: July 31, 2012, 10:56:32 PM »
Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get some of that tempered stainless steel sheet they use for newer ramp flaps? I'm not looking for the blue spring steel.

Any tips for cutting and drilling it would also be appreciated.

Thanks, Anthony.

I used Stainless Steel paint scrapers from Bunnings

Nice! So I take it they don't rust? Were they difficult to cut/drill?

You will need a cobalt drill bit to drill the holes and I used a good pair of tin snips to cut them out

I have rolls of the stuff (gold, ss and blue spring).

If you need a piece cut off I can send you some.

As millsy said cut them with a pair of tin snips and I then trim the finer edging/curves with a pair of nail scissors.
