EBAY people really piss me off!!!!
« on: January 30, 2013, 08:20:42 AM »
Why is it everytime I list something on eBay it becomes a hasstle.   I listed a small coke fridge that I didn't really want to sell but made the decision to move it on ten minutes before the end of the auction the winning bidder messages me saying he no longer wants the item I wasn't home so unable to retract his bid so he wins it for )202.50
Grrrr

So I second chance offer it to the next high bidder for $150 and don't hear anything back ???

So now I guess it has to take up space in my shed while inrunnanother bloody auction grrrr

Unfortunately, this is a regular occurrence. The highest bidder can retract their bid before the auction ended. I've had this happen a few times, and the bidders know what they are doing, as there "reason" in their retraction email is always something like "Entered wrong value" - Yet their bid may be days old.

I don't list anything at this time of year as people have spent their money on holidays  *%*

It's been said by many of us before, Ebay is a mess these days. Completely purchaser biased, a woeful system for a seller.

and PayPal is no better (same company - what more can I say).

I currently have a buyer in the USA (a pinball PCB direct from my website, not eBay) who disputed the transaction through PP and straight away escallated it to a claim thus removing any option for me to respond.

He did this 5 days after buying when delivery will take at least 14 working days. I think it's an obvious scam to get a free board. He is now not responding to my emails and he will get a free board - I will lose the board, the overseas postage of $14 and the PayPal transaction fee of about $4

Homepin is a hobby business and run on a shoestring. I pump many tens of thousands of dollars into it because I like doing what I am doing. The $100 loss is neither here nor there BUT I dislike thieving F*CKTARDS !

I send all boards air mail but not registered as the extra cost, $10 plus the extra work for me filling out the paperwork is just a waste of time and money.

I will be forced to make people pay for registered in future or pay as a 'gift' to avoid this bullshit.

It only takes a few bad apples to ruin a good thing for others.

I have never ever had a response from a second chance offer.
I think too many people get caught up in the "battle" of the auction and after it's over they regret it.
There is also a lot of people who just bid to push the price up because their bid was beaten at the cheaper price or they are just fishing to find out someone else's bid.

Sadly paypal has a LOT of fine-tuning to do, in order to prevent escalated claims being processed......
I send EVERYTHING as 'registered/trackable' and make that quite clear in auctions that buyers MUST pay for that, or don't bid.

I haven't lost a dollar or an item since ;-)

......and as for 2nd chance offers, in all my ebay years, i've NEVER had anyone respond/purchase any one of my 200+ 2nd chance offers, it just doesn't happen....

These days i just relist the item and watch it climb (not as high) again.......oh well...

Hi.
does the fridge come with coke or will i actually have to buy some my self to put in it?
Will you deliver it to my door or is this extra?
does it work like a new fridge or like a used one?

If the Item you are selling doesn't work like a new one (even though it is listed as used) or it has any marks on it and you won't deliver / carry it up to my 3rd floor flat free of charge I will refuse to pay for it or expect the small amount of money i did pay for it back with extra $$$ as compensation for the time i spent working out ways i can rip you off..

it shits me to tears when these looser try and get items for free because the system allows them to

on the rare occasion I am short changed or get faulty items from china on ebay I usually order a second lot of items and ask the seller to add the amount of faulty or missing items to the second order.
the over seas sellers have always done this so far.

the only real problem (in my eyes) i had was when i tried to buy some new inserts for my STNG and 2 of the 3 had air bubbles in the inserts. after asking the seller to physically check the inserts 3 times for air bubbles and explained that the inserts were going into a playfield that was going to be clear coated I was told after the 3rd time "that's how they are and if you don't like them send them back for a refund" I managed to get 3 good inserts without bubbles (I kept one good one out of each exchange).
when I was asked if i had replaced inserts before i stupidly said no so I was told to sand the inserts and this will get rid of any impurities / bubbles in the middle of the inserts  !!@

short story to this is i explained I needed high quality inserts for a playfield and was told to except the 2 shit ones out of every 3 so i paid for 3 sets and sent them back and fourth several times to get 2 good sets when all the seller had to do was  check that they were selling an "A" grade "Genuine NOS" WMS product instead of a "B" grade remake.
I even offered more and it would have cost the seller less in shipping if they accepted the extra $$ to send me the A grade product they were advertising.

after reading my comment i sound like one of these  !!@ that you are mentioning  !@# but i have never expected a " FREE " product off ebay. I expect what i have payed for or i send it back and then ask for a refund. If the return postage is worth more than what i paid for the item in the first place i would keep the item and post Negative feed back (I have not had to do this yet)
