When you buy a reconditioned machine from a dealer as the starting point it will be difficult to get your money back; spending another $1200 doesn't help!

But a pinball machine is an investment!
I read that on the interwebs

That would be correct. Thankfully, a "Mercy Dash" to Europe a few years ago successfully secured the last pinballs out of Europe  %.%

Well the truth is even if an EBD was in absolutely mint condition I wouldn't pay any more than $4000 as an absolute top price.

Others might be willing to pay more, but I wouldn't be!

I don't even think it's worth 4k in stunning condition but thats just me, it is obvious that the sellers driveway does not go all the way down to the road if you get my drift.

Sounds to me like a classic case of noob walks into a dealer asking for this or that etc.
Dealer sees some easy cash and milks the buyer for as much as possible.

IF what is stated in the Ebay ad is true then this poor fellow got ripped to shreds and taken for a huge ride financially..

..Shame really but classic case of buyer beware.. there isnt one member here that doesnt know the prices are ridiculous

This type of seller is on a brief, steep learning curve.

The market knows exactly what a particular machine  is worth if sufficient, accurate info is given.

Its not like EBD's dont turn up a couple of times a month and don't get knocked down for more or less what theyr'e worth.

This is a well understood game  by the majority of people playing it.
