Kiss Back Glass....What do you think??
« on: November 03, 2012, 03:06:55 PM »
I've been chasing down backglasses this year as wall art for the games room. My brother up in Sydney somehow came across a framed kiss backglass in really nice nic. The guy who owned it knew nothing about it other than he got it from timezone some 30 odd years ago?
He had no idea on it's value (and neither did I really) and he said make me an offer. I have been paying anywhere from from $100 to $150 to get backglasses and have them framed  so I figure it's a kiss has to be worth more than a lot of other backglasses. I offered him $150 thinking we can work up a little from there if need be but to my suprise he said we have a deal. Now I just have to wait for Christmas when my brother brings it down.
How did I do?...good deal, bad deal or fair deal?

I had offered $100 due to the flaking and some scratches before you contacted him, so the price is still OK I guess.

How did you get onto this guy? My brother was a little vague on the details. He told me the guy used to work a timezone many years ago but that's as much as he would tell me. I think he was trying to find me a Christmas present but he's not into pinball so I am curious as to how he came across it. Only gave me details he needed to know such as what I thought it was worth.

It was posted on an astronomy website, and he mentioned that he had registered here, but didn't have enough posts up to advertise it, so I did some detective work and found his registration and then emailed him. He's seemed like a nice guy and had greatly reduced his asking price after the faults were discussed.
I would have probably picked it up today if you hadn't contacted him, them's the breaks I guess.

I would say you did good, it looks very presentable to me  *%*

Where is the damage to it, its not noticeable in the pics really. Looks MUCH better than the glass in my own Kiss pin  *%*
