NIB Stern guide to simply removable mods / protectors

I have had a few pm's from newbie's about what to consider as good mods / advise on accessories for a NIB, so thought best way is to list what is available and where to find.
I have specifically listed RTBB as Greg provides a great service at a good price here in Aus, AMD as that is where NIB Stern pins are coming from 90% of the time within Aus as a NIB and then Pinball Life in the US as they provide a great range of products at reasonable prices and reasonable postage costs with a slightly larger range of gear (unfortunately they are on holidays until 7th July so their site is down so can't put up all the links up at the moment). Also Flipper Fidelity as they have a nice range of sound gear.
Please add info to this post as the below is a list of items to
protect and personalise your new game and is not game specific.
Shaker, Subwoofer, Mirror Blades
http://www.amdcoinop.com
then click pinball machines and it will be the top of the page
- Shaker Motor Kit - supplied and fitted - $240 + gst
- LED Lighting - supplied and fitted - $150 + gst
- Mirror Blades - supplied and fitted - $150 + gst
- 10" 200w Sub Woofer - supplied and fitted - $150 + gst
note 1: LED's can be purchased else where listed below and you can fit your self and probably cost half that and not sure what brand they are using but quite possibly no brand ones????
note 2: mirror blades do come up on ebay for around the $90-$110 plus $20-$40 postage unless you can pickup from a seller
Full Speaker Upgrade Kits
improve the quality of the game sound with this upgrade but postage won't be cheap
http://www.flipperfidelity.com/products.php?cat=Stern%20Speaker%20Systems&itemId=7
External Volume Control
adjust the machines volume without opening the coin door though the tournament button will need to be relocated within the cabinet and not be used.
http://www.flipperfidelity.com/products.php?cat=Stern%20Speaker%20Systems&itemId=145
Pinnovators Volume Control 1,2,3
plug in some headphones and crank the sound up to suit yourself
http://www.flipperfidelity.com/products.php?cat=Pinnovators&itemId=156
PinZero DMD Glare Guards
a guard to stop the light hitting the cabinet glass allowing you to see clearer

Pincab Protectors
protectors that fit between the legs and the cabinet to reduce the possible damage of the metal legs to the cabinet decals

http://www.rtbb.com.au/catalog/index.php?cPath=138
http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=1322
White Rings / Rubbers
all new games come with black rings / rubbers but the white's play a little better and is a personal thing when it comes to looks but will show up black marks after a while
http://www.rtbb.com.au/catalog/index.php?cPath=93_95
LED's
many people want there new NIB Pro pin to have led's like the Premium and LE release games, but not at the moment the Premium's and LE's have a led board so can control RGB lighting which can not be achieved in the pro's

Cliffy Protectors

http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=221&pg=1
Red or Blue Plastic Apron's
some game may look better with these rather than the black plastic ones but you will then need to purchase the game specific Apron Decals
http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2999
I hope this helps you guys new and old to the hobby

this was posted else where but thought it was worth showing the quality of the balls supplied with a NIB, The silverjets are available from Macro but RTBB supply a few different types of good quality balls to suit a machine with and without magnets
Pin Balls
as the balls issued with the Stern machines are known to not be that great, so replace straight away
http://www.rtbb.com.au/catalog/index.php?cPath=140
check with Greg as the size you need to get is a 1 1/16" ball

Metal Cab Protectors
these are a fairly new item available that fasten to the cabinet and then the leg to them - these are supposed to sit hidden behind the leg and the best solution for cabinet and decal protection, which have been released on recent Stern LE's
