Has anyone put light wire mods on their pinball ramps?
« on: December 10, 2012, 11:21:41 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has put some light wire mods on their ramps. We brought some from america for our new tron pro. They told us just to use sticky tape, but we dont really want to do that. Has anybody drilled holes in their ramps on any machine with sucess? Are the ramps strong enough to drill through? Just curious, dont want to wreck our new pin.
Any suggestions would be great.

You can glue the lightwire in place all along the 'gutter' of any ramp as the curvatre of the ball will NEVER make contact in the very edge of the ramp.
Don't use super-glue as it'll acid-etch into the plastic and make it milky white, so use some other clear glue.

You can also glue it on the underside of ramps, pulling tension to keep it snug to the ramp and only glueing in certain areas that aren't seen like posts etc.
Also, there s EL sheet which is flat and can be custom cut into strips & shapes and it's self adhesive to.

have fun.

Ok then - well a few years back I bought some EL Wire and wanted to put it on my WH20.
Temporarily I decided to use stock standard sticky tape to see if I liked the look of the EL Wire in the game.
I was amazed that you just couldnt see the tape at all when I first put the wire on with it.

Years later -  - - - - - - it is still there and invisible ( nearly )
Normally I wouldnt do anything so 'dodgy' but it worke dwell and you cant tell so I left it.

Did you use sticky tape or did you drill holes in the ramps or something else to fix them?
It looks awesome by the way.
