TOM trunk problem advice needed
« on: December 15, 2012, 10:42:28 PM »
For those of you who know TOM my explanation should be easy to understand.
After you lock the first 2 balls for multi the truck spins around to the side with the magnet in it. The magnet then grabs the third ball spins back around and mutliball begins. My magnet has stopped turning on and grabbing the ball it just bounces off it.
Should I be looking for a fuse or something else?
Thanks
Tim

I don't think it is a fuse as you would have other solenoids not working. Check the wiring that comes out of the Trunk Shaft (under the playfield). The wiring can tangle and cause damage. The connector may have come loose as well. Just check around that area of the Trunk shaft.

Nino's probably correct, but it's worth checking the fuses on the fliptronics board. TOM does not have "upper flippers" so they used the two extra spaces on the fliptronics board for extra coils, and one runs the magnet and something else (not sure what), so you might not have noticed the other affected coil yet.

Sometimes re-seating connectors does the trick, looks like you solved it that way!! Well done!!

Isn't there a lillte screw adjustment that you turn with a small screw driver until a little red light goes on or off that works the magnet?
