Cirqus Voltaire prototype pin
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:16:54 PM »
As nice as they are, i'm not in the market for a CV, but i came across this local one on Gumtree. The seller states it's a rare prototype
and explains the reasons. Is the info in this listing correct and do these prototype CVs exist ?

Strangeways will be the one to confirm the info being his most loved DMD.

Looks nice, seems a little pricey though?? Might be wrong, not a game I keep any track of.

It looks like a nice looking example, is 8k about what these machines sell for normally?  Interesting about the prototype, personally though the differences between this and the standard version doesn't seem that significant, I'd be happy with either!

Yes, it is just artwork changes between the prototype and standard CV. The skinny ringmaster has been reproduced and can be bought online.

CV is a pin that cries out for extra bling - he should be talking to Retropin about getting a tri-colour neon tube made for the right hand side ramp.   *%*

Just accidentally happened to capture all those other games in the shot of the subject game I guess.....

I'm not that knowledgeable on the prototype. I just love the production game ! There's a very cool site which validates the auction ;

http://www.hassellcastle.com/cvsample.htm

Best of luck to the seller, and I think the buyer would be very happy to have a proto.

As for the pricetag - $7500 for a shopped CV with new (non Next Gen( decals was the going rate 5 years ago. So a sample game in collector's quality may be worth $8000. I consider CV to be the best DMD ever made, so maybe it is worth the $ ?

Now here's THE prototype (with a wooden ramp, paper cutout ringmaster, missing inserts and had drawn with sharpie artwork).

Drool....

Best clue for Proto is the words in front of the ringmaster "tickle" instead of production "defeat"

This appears to be the read deal as a sample, not a prototype
