Need approx dimensions of a pinball machine plz.
« on: February 23, 2013, 06:59:15 PM »
It's funny how pinball starts to enter into everyday thoughts. For example  my wife and I are buying a 2nd car to fit a pram etc for the new bubs and we're looking at buying a wagon. Then it hit me......I wonder if I could get a pinny in the back of it. It would be an added bonus as I wouldn't be restricted with buying my first pin locally. Or just maybe freighting them back and forth to a restorer/repairer. So can any body give me the dimensions of a early 90s dmd with the headboard folded down. Will they all be roughly the same size from a williams to a DE or sega?
Or is it easy to remove the head from the body and put it back on when I get it home remembering I'm just a newbie to this pinball game with no experience but willing to learn and have a go.

Cheers,
Anthony

The average pinball dimensions are: 76cm (30") wide, 190cm to 200cm (76" to 80") tall, and 140cm (56") deep. Folded up it is: 76cm (30") wide, 76cm (30") tall, and 140cm (56") deep.

The average pinball weight is: 113.5 Kg to 136 Kg (250 pounds to 300 pounds).

just did a quick measure up of a sketch simulation - it should be close and it's for a Bally/WMS.

A Sega will be very similar to a Stern as they used pretty much the same cabinets (I think), the Stern back boxes are a fraction smaller in depth so when folded down hopefully will not sit as high.

Hope that helps

All the people movers I have owned have definitely fitted in a pinball machine, because they have the cabin height. In fact, the Kia Grand Carnival fits a pinball machine in without even having to fold the second row of seats down. I have found it pretty handy!

Commodore wagons can fit pinballs in with the head box down and they can also fit a NIB game in by a bees dick lol

Hey Peter, is that the VE series commodore wagons or the pre earlier models?  !@#

A salesman at a Holden dealer told me that the VE series are shorter (I think he said 9 inches) as they use the Commodore chassis, whereas the previous models used a Statesman chassis.

I'm looking at getting a new Commodore wagon, so that'd be good to know.

Cheers,

Andy

I have a brand spanking VE SSZ wagon.

The height from floor to roof is 700mm which i think is too short to fit with head down

Hmmm, that may be a problem @.@

I suppose if it fits lengthways, one could always unbolt / disconnect the head. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do that.  *!@

(Oh, sorry for highjacking OP's thread! #@#)

Also, it is not the floor size
you need to look at the slope of the door
some cars can fit a game, but the rear door is unable to be closed

Wonder if the car dealer would let me take a demo car home to test it? && &&

Vz wagons and Mazda 6 wagons are what we are looking at. I don't feel confident in getting a pin into mazda though. Of course the wife likes the mazda ^&^ better so I have to try and convince her to go the commodore without her knowing my motivation is because of a pinball #@#
