Thoughts on modding LE models
« on: March 02, 2013, 05:53:41 PM »
What do you guys think about this? I haven't put any mods on my BIB LE but have heavily modded my tron :-). I always thought I should leave my LE stock cause its a LE but there's so many acdc mods coming out I'm having second thoughts, its not about stuffing up the resale value I suppose its because its a limited edition :-)

ACDC is a keeper for you?
then mod away

you are not silly enough to repaint the cabinet, the worst you will probably do is drill holes in the backbox for a topper
no real harm there

while I do not own any LE's, all of my NIB would have a scratch here and there

I would do mods that can be removed but like Pete said if it is a keeper mod to your liking

definitely reckon mirror blades, cannon and a few other features

I know with cars (rare and collectible), everything has to be stock original. One slight mod and the value goes south very quick. Pinball would probably be the same. Keep all original gear should you wish to sell.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.

Everything is reversable, so mod away I say !

For my AC/DC machine I have -

1 x set mirror blades
1 x batch Leds -some, not all
3 x guitar mods from Pinball-Life
2 x drum mods from Pinball-Life
1 x set mirror lightning bolts
2 x red/black AC/DC stickers for the bell face mod
1 x set under playfield rails
1 x copper cannon mod from UK

And i will add the swinging bell mod sooner or later, and my own custom topper for the machine, and I plan on something major for the playfield as well very soon.   Everything can be reversed, but i would leave it this way forever whether i sold it or not, cause the next person would love it the way it will be soon anyway.

Mod away Pete, any BNIB machine can benefit.

and the LED flashers under playfield I can see in first photo; you probably need a pair of sunnies with those.

What else are you thinking of adding Pete ??  Not too many mods for ACDC out there . They are all easily reversible / removeable so , as already mentioned , just keep the original parts and if you ever do sell it you can change it back or at least include them with the sale .

Hi

I'm thinking the canon mod with flasher the TNT detonator flasher mod and the drum mod next to the diverters and mirror blades, also there working on a led mod for the band figures to so yeah a few more and as others have mentioned there all reversible.

I've added to mine so far :

- Mirror blades
- Red T-moulding around backbox
- Topper
- Angus head shooter rod
- LED backbox lighting kit ( Flipper Fidelity) - yet to be installed

Also going to do the cannon mod once it arrives .
