Looks nice but a bit overdone for most purists me thinks!!

Well it's in the top 16 anyway  %.%
Having  said that, the last time I had the opportunity to play a Hulk machine I really got into it. its a fun challenging game in my opinion. You cant beat the theme and art work on this machine and I'm a big fan of the System 1's game play. I haven't found one yet that I really don't like.
Is it worth the money their asking? I don't know but the machine looks very nice IMO. Pascal board in there too, can't be a bad thing.

For many Hulk is part of the trilogy of machines on their wishlist i.e. Hulk, Superman and Spiderman.  The artwork on Hulk is stunning, gameplay is OK but definitely not Sys 1's best machine.  as for the asking price of that eBay machine.....ridiculous!!!

I've seen this Hulk in the flesh around a year ago when I was at the sellers house picking up a backglass. He has heaps of machines but this one and the solar ride he also has listed were his only 2 personal keeper machines that he had inside his house all his other machines were for sale and stored under cover outside. He was very proud of these 2 and said they were keepers he would not sell.... maybe times are tough. He also had just got in the BK2000 that he has listed and said he was considering keeping this as his 3rd keeper.
They did look very clean and really beautifully restored but the one thing I couldn't get into was the clear coated cabinets. For me they were too shiney and didn't look right.

Looking at his photos, I was thinking the same thing. Once you overdo a restoration and deviate from the original look and feel of a machine, you start to loose the purists.

It is not a faithful restoration. It is more of a "bling" or "pimped" (to steal an American term) pinball. Overdone on the cabinet, wrong finish as no manufacturer clearcoated the cabinet, and certainly not in a high gloss finish. The door looks ridiculous in a high finish. I don't appreciate "pimped" machines.

I admire the effort, but it not considered a restoration. 200 hours is too long, there must have been a lot of coffee breaks !

Should get around $2500 tops.

I actually like the way he has modernised this one and made it look alot newer versus stock n older.
I know its not original this way, but most people viewing it at your house so to speak, would say gee that looks like its brand new.

I reckon someone who really wants a nice looker of this might pay 3000 to 3500 if they just absolutely had to have it in their collection, but 4999 seems to be extremely expensive for such a older title. This HULK machine looks like a nice art piece to go into a gym business, up in someones office or something, shame to hide it away between two other pinnys where u cant appreciate the nice colours n minty paint job.

Totally agree, it has been "pimped" not restored.. I too admire the effort thats gone into it, it does look nice but its TOO nice.. too perfect.

I repaired one of these for my cousin many about 20 yrs ago, and in the last few yrs i had been thinking i should call him and see if he still had it and if he wanted to sell it. Lo and behold he called me out of the blue a couple of yrs ago to tell me he had sold it, and did i have any pins i wanted to sell  @.@ @.@ @.@

The conversation started as "do u remember that Hulk pin you fixed yrs ago?" at which point i started to think here's my chance and said yeah i remember!! then he told me he had sold it  !!! Damn and i could've got it cheap too if he'd still had it
