LOTR play along figures

My LOTR just arrived, second hand but HUO, and I managed to score a set of play along figures to go with it.

For those who like mods - is there an accepted protocol on where the little buggers fit in best? I've read some things, and for the dis !@# @@^ciples of the movies, they seem to know where each should go. It seems a bit like arranging seating at a wedding - don't want to put a troll with a goblin or whatever is not appropriate!

Pics would be appreciated.
