Rescue 911
« on: March 23, 2009, 11:27:33 PM »
Any feedback on Rescue 911 - looks like it would be fun to play? Are they easy enough to keep going?

There's an overpriced one (in my opinion) on eBay now (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RESCUE-911-COIN-OPERATED-PINBALL-MACHINE_W0QQitemZ200321627758QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_15?hash=item200321627758&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318). They seem to pop up regularly and I notice MarKC has one coming in his next container.

Pretty fun pin. Way overpriced though. Around the $1800 - $2000 mark I would think.

Fun for a quick bash. Wouldn't want to live with one though.

Gottlieb System 3's are very reliable. The "smart switches" can be a little iffy at times, and are probably best retro fitted with regular switches.

Interesting thoughts - what works against the long-term playability?

FUN game - but that's about it. Play it once a week maybe ? Has a helicopter toy that picks up the ball and transports it to another part of the playfield. Longevity ? - Not that long !

Price - You could get two System 3's in reasonable condition for that price.

Thanks Nino, that's pretty much my thoughts too.

Not like it's a horrible game. It's just one of those games you'd have a bash on at the pub, and you wouldn't lose any sleep if you never played it again.

Even at 1500 -1800 bucks i still think there's better buying out there.

OK, it was one I have never played so I was interested to see what you guys thought of it.

Not on the list.
