Disregard all my fears and comments, this is a room i would kill for. That carpet is the best, but looking at the last photo, i would be calling in the ghost busters; that apparition looks creepy  @.@

Thanks for the kind words.

Started to move in some of my machines today, great to see them inside. First 2 photos were for me to see the gap between the pins and i am happy, i actually thought it would be smaller than what it is. The rest is how the wall will stay for now until i get more pins, Tron will be taking pride of place where Roadshow was once i get my next pin. I have 3 now and have room (and plans) for 6. Seemed funny to put it there now and have a gap on the main wall.

You can just see my desk in some of the pics as i have to use this room as my office/computer room as well, loose a bit of space but its worth it.

Anyway some pics......

Still have to bring in some macines but i need to set up my office this weekend.

What kind of lighting is used to make the carpet come alive? The shapes look like they are fluorescent.

What kind of lighting is used to make the carpet come alive? The shapes look like they are fluorescent.

It is UV/Blacklight lighting, I planned to get this carpet from the start and i knew i had to get blacklights to make it stand out.

In this earlier pic you can see the 4 downlights in the room.

Then i had my electrician remove the back two downlights and install the 3 sets of twin fluros.

What i did not mention was that they were purely for the blacklighting (did not want to give it away too early  %$%). While the blacklighting may be a little 80's/ravey i love the effect on the carpet as it does indeed make it glow/look fluorescent and it suits the look i was going for. It also reacts with the machines! Roadshows yellow ramps glow as well as most of the instruction cards and other things. Its fun seeing what reacts to the UV.

I removed the back two downlights so they would not reflect on the pinball machines and figured i would get a lamp or something later down the track for that end of the room. Unfortunately two things have changed my mind a little on the (normal) lighting of the room, first being the black paint made the room darker than i expected or should i say i thought the down lights would do a better job! Second i realised the back two would reflect on the pinballs but i forgot about my arcades! The front two downlights shine on them, so not everything went to plan on this but it is something i can look at later.

Once i get all my machines in and working properly ill look at holding an AP meet for any fellow melbournites that would like to come and have a look/play. Alternatively if you want to have a look or a play sooner feel free to let me know, happy to show and share my new room. (provided your shoes are clean  *)*)

great job I just showed my wife and she said I'm not allowed  ^&^

Haha took me a long time to convince the missus that this would be worth the time, effort and money. Glad i did the extra work making it a games room rather than just emptying the room and putting the machines in...........this

as opposed to THIS!  ()

Sounds great, where abouts are you as I'd be interested in attending a meet. I'm in the western suburbs.
