OK, back at Newcastle university when I started playing pinball, there were a couple of machines - an Eight Ball Deluxe and one other I can't remember. We concentrated on the EBD and got pretty good at it - often having to leave credits on it to attend lectures (yes we did attend those).
Then one fateful day they took away our beloved EBD (maybe we were so good at it that it stopped making much money) and left a couple of other machines.
I ended up playing one more than the others, and this is the one I am trying to remember. It was nowhere near comparable to the EBD, but it was pinball. The machine in question had some sort of space theme, and I am pretty sure there was a bank of targets in the centre of the playfield. I was at uni from 1986 to 1989, so pins before and around this era would be in consideration.
From memory the backglass itself had a space theme, the cab was light-coloured and the flippers may have been yellow. I am thinking along the lines of non-Bally/Midway just because it was so different to the EBD.
Any suggestions? I could trawl through all the space-themed pins on ipdb, but if you guys can narrow it down that will help.
