Best Way to Black Out Trim,Lockbar etc

Hi All,

Recently bought a No Fear (Yea another Ritchie Pin)

which I think Needs the "BlackOut" treatment,

Glass trim Rails, Lockdown Bar and Legs minimum,

They look fantastic when done this way with new decals also..

What is the most durable finish or product do the Resto guys use?

Powder coating, Electro or just paint?

Rails and lockdown being stainless presents its own problems as far as paint adhesion goes..

and this is how cAb currently looks,

Never understood why the headboxes don't seem to fade as much...

apart from the fade its one of the straightest cabs I have seen wouldn't need to much wok to redecal..

For durability and looks - Powdercoat the parts.

Paint can chip and can get scratched - especially legs. Powdercoating is a professional look and is "value for money" in this instance.

Yep this game grows on you its an absolute Post fest until you get your eye in!

Once you play the game to the ruleset and complete the challenges it really is great fun to play 

I never thought I'd find a game faster than F14 but Nf is it!

are you going to airbrush the flames???

Hey Jady I'm tossing up weather to redecal or touch it up with the airbrush.

Cabs in great nick maybe I will dust off the brush and give it a go,

 if I don't like it will redecal it properly..

hi guys a couple of pics of a few NF repairs,

firstly the ramp support posts were broken like they normally are,

not surprising with the speed and violence of this game,

so were drilled out and rethreaded in the lathe using a larger 8/32 thread size,and playfield posts drilled out and threaded to match.

originally 6/32 no wonder they break!

upper Ramp was reinforced with stainless top and bottom tying in all the mounting points,

and incorporated a polished corner guard which cops a hammering with mistimed jump shots..

apparently similar to a once available cliffy for this game but i need the tig welding practice

other pic is a right hand stainless rail rfeinforcing the jump ramp entry which was also damaged..

fair bit of time in this but cheaper than a new ramp!

also flame polished ramp for good measure itr was almost opaque originally...

ramp flipper post was Flogged out so also rebushed it as well

Been a long time coming but finally stripping NF down,

Been very Time poor so have commissioned a local restorer to redecal the cabinet for me,

and getting the full Blackout treatment with legs, rails and lockbar all getting powdercoated..

a novel use for my engine crane..

I was thinking of adapting an engine trolley to a rotisserie?
Definitely a fun game and looooooove those orbits the way they sling back at you rather quick.

Engine trolley or stand would be seriously heavy duty for a rotisserie!

NF has a unique playfield pivoting system, spring loaded pins locate into grooves cut into the inner sidewalls of the cabinet..

Works Super smooth and simple at a fraction of the cost of those infernal metal slides!

Without an assistant this was a simple way to keep the weight off the pivots to release them

Yep No Fear is seriously fast.
The outer orbits rocket back at you, but still a repeatable shot..even the inner skull orbit can put so much spin on the ball if you try and trap it will run round the flipper and Sdtm!

Seriously underrated game IMHO..
