As you can tell I a little new at this, one more issue. the ball kick doesn't kick ball in to shoot and when the ball is lost it doesn't register.

It may be the switch in the outhole not closing.( this is the one the ball rests on . And check "Outhole" relay contacts they may be dirty or out of adjustment. Hope this helps

the contacts are cleaned. the outhole contacts do nothing when the ball pushes the switch down.

Do you have schematics ? This will make fault finding much easier. In addition to the above comments, check the "ball count unit". If it is sloppy or has dirty contacts, it will not advance through each ball.
