Coming along nicely! Such a bang for buck game, really loving mine.

New decals look amazing.

Just a question on the LCD replacement - will the image reflect off the playfield glass with enough brightness ? I've not seen this done before.

LCD's in these are the bomb.  20 inch 4:3 fits perfectly.

LCD should be as bright as the CRT (more so as the CRT looked fine but wasn't super bright), will have to see once it is in, I don't see it being a problem as can just crank the brightness if needed.

I have a 5:4 19" monitor going in should be close enough to the 20" recommedation above.

Also popped into Jaycar and got two new speakers to replace the 20 year old ones.. Not much different, still 15wRMS and 4ohm like the originals (and the amp I got) but two way, at $26 for the pair doubt they are too special but while I am there I might as well replace the old ones..

can see old and new side by side, they are slightly bigger but still fit, just..

Door painted (rustoleum), needs more work, it does look much better than before (was scratched and rusty as hell) but after coating it I noticed the glue residue (now under the paint), will have to strip back those sections (mainly above lock) and re-spray..

Before and After bolt... Slight improvement

Brand new targets just before I put them in, yellow replaced with the proper green one.. Can also see the new pop bumbers are in..

LOL, fair enough, though not much to see then ;-)   Will put some up soon of playfield with protector on once fully re-populated (almost there)..

OK major progress on the weekend..

- The main cabinet is stripped, sanded and wood filled, just waiting for the filler to dry and will sand back ready to start painting.. Got an orbital sander today, so much better/faster than my old detail sander..

- Playfield is fully populated again, (semi)transparent rubbers, all new post, any broken plastics replaced plastic ramps and metal flaps cleaned and polished, vertical post rubbers (beside hole and ramps) replaced with red rubbers.

- Martians have glowing eyes (red leds).

- Metallic red flipper bats with semi translucent green rubbers.

- All lights above and below playfield replaced with coloured Noflix Plus LEDs, including flashers which are coloured too where appropriate.

- Back box light board (behind translite) in place and 12v LED strips stuck on, not sure if I will just have everything on or use the small strips as flashers linked to various lights/modes on the playfield, and just leave the two long strips on all the time.

- I don't like just shutting the PC (linux) down by turning off power so hooked a button up on the top of the cabinet and ACPI on the PC so tapping it will cause the PC to perform a correct linux halt/shutdown..

Some pics, ohh and I used a camera rather than my phone this time... @@*

I think I may have voided the warranty?? ;-)

Love your work mate.

Its coming up superb !

Gotta ask...

Did you do the

- Martians have glowing eyes (red leds).

mod yourself or did you purchase it somewhere ?

Want to do this to mine.

TIA.

No I wasted my money buying premade ones as mine needed to be replaced anyway.. Too expensive for what it is though, all they did was get two little red 3v LED lights (can get for cents on ebay) and stick them through the head. They were then just wired in serial and you just connect them to one of the under-playfield light fittings..

I regret wasting money money there to be honest, should have made them myself and will aim in the future to make these types of mods myself, saving a small fortune...
