OK .. might as well fess up to my stupidity ..the bad news is I was too impatient and started cleaning the PF the other night with a little Metho on a rag (after a few sherbs) just so see how it would come up , instead of waiting till the next day and buying some Shellite.
Result was a bit of paint loss in one area .. which means now I will have to do my 1st ever PF touchup .   &^&
Will post some pics when I get home tonight . You will see there are a few other areas on the PF which need touchups anyway.

Bummer,  @.@

Suppose just learn from this - how much paint did you take off? Just one colour? Mate I made the same mistake about 12 years ago on my Space Odyssey - pulled up the mylar on a mint playfield. To remove the remaining glue I also used metho and some of the blue paint came up.

No longer a mint playfied and you would of heard me scream F * C K   F * C K   F * C K from every corner of Australia  :lol

At least you can fix this - I was concerned it was a smashed backglass

Well i must have been extremely lucky then ive used metho on all my mylar removals without an issue.  So should i be using shellite instead of metho?

Yeh .. I have recently used Metho to clean off wax on a couple of my other PF's so I could finally clean off the ball swirl and dirt tracks and didn't have a problem with them .. you live you learn eh?

Hmm, the lesson is: always test in an unimportant area first...
