Gottlieb Waterworld on ebay
« on: October 29, 2013, 05:00:50 PM »
Just noticed a Waterworld for sale in Melbourne. I never played this title but from IPDB reviews, this one may be a sleeper with a cult following. Only 1500 made, wish it was in Sydney. Has anyone owned this title?

I recently repaired a Waterworld and really enjoyed playing it once I had it working 100%. I have not seen the movie, but I quickly picked up the ruleset and found it to be a very underrated title. It is not as good as Stargate, but at times it comes close. Well worth a look at.

There seems to be some wear near the flippers on the auctioned game (covered up).

Yes, I noticed the pink cover-up, other than that, this machine can do with a good clean, but looks sound. Not sure how it plays.
I saw the movie Waterworld at the cinemas when it came out and it was very different to other movies at the time. It was a flop at the box office but so was Blade Runner. Sometimes movies are ahead of the times and it takes a while for people to like them.

Speaking of Blade Runner, that would be an awesome pinball title.

My Waterworld is one that Nino speaks of. Certainly not as good as Stargate, but an enjoyable game none the less. Pretty tough to conquer it. Looks visually appealing when in good shape.

being a surfer/waterman I love the wave in the top of play field and also the aquatic theme, would love to play even own one as it is up my alley.
For the sellers sake I refuse to buy from Ebay and therefore I will sadly miss out once again.

If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

Very nice, I thought I'd seen one of these before until I saw yours and realised I hadn't.

I liked the movie, can't say the same about the pin.
It belongs at the bottom of the ocean.

It is a real "sleeper" title. Sometimes a pinball seems like a snorefest until you actually play a fully working game, it is hard to appreciate. These SYS3 games are real value for money.

+1 It is amazing what difference a 100% tuned and working machine makes, no matter which title. Always play them the way they were meant to be played.

I played it for a few hours at Pinball Warehouse a few years ago, it was set up properly and fully working.
