Flipper Caps Mod - "Tyre Tread" design
« on: November 23, 2013, 10:02:18 PM »
Ok I need a volunteer that likes mods that has a car themed pinball in their collection, possible a Getaway but open to another type, and the person needs to have posted at least 100 posts up their sleeve as I want to give back to the long term guys for this one.

The mod is a very simple install (clip on) and is easily removable and it is hopefully a fresh inventive idea.

What I hope to do is issue you with a free set to install, you take a few photos for me as well as give me some thoughts and not share until it is ready for release and it is FREE.

I could have a smple set in the mail by Monday / Tuesday and you need to be in Aus.

If you can guess it correctly you can also get a set to trial for me  &&

I'm not into mods, but I'd be happy to help you out if no one else wants to

I got these ideas spinning around in my head and just have to try out a few, this one is basically what I am calling - flipper caps. They are a themed cover for the top of your flipper bat, that just allows a little character to be added without making the flipper look out of proportion but very easily removable.

The first one is a car themed flipper cover that only extends past the profile of your flipper by around 1.5mm all around. It has a recess in the underside for the W logo on some bats so the cap sits flat and one small piece of double sided tape holds the cap securely in place. These are easy to pop off if you need to change a rubber and back on again - though I can't guarantee if the tape may remove the finish on some of those newer chrome finish bats.

So this one is a sports tyre tread flipper cap in the new tyre look or the dusty road driven look, and if anyone is interested they are $15 a set and should suit car themed pins or a pin with cars in it like Highspeed, Taxi, Corvette, CFTBL etc. If you get a dusty road driven look set and like the new look, just hold a flame lightly against the tread and it will gloss up and a light sand and you have the reverse look. Postage will be $2.60 and tape will be fitted ready for you to install - in a total of 10 seconds.

They look good.

I noticed on your ebay auction you don't have the word "pinball" in the auction title. You might want to put that in there if it will fit. I know on ebay I often just search on the word pinball. It might ensure more potential buyers stumble across it.

Thanks guys for the kind comments

Thanks for picking up the ebay listing - pretty silly of me, as I am normally all into the key words.
