Australian Made Pinball PODcast!
« on: December 17, 2013, 11:53:50 PM »
In case you're in need of some Xmas road trip listening in the next week, or you're not planning on sleeping for the next hour & a half...just thought I'd post a quick plug for the launch episode of our new Australian - Pinheadz Pinball PODcast! After procrastinating & thinking about doing an Aussie pinball podcast for the last couple of years I finally got a couple of the local Canberra Pinheadz together & made it happen.

https://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/pinheadz-pinball-podcast/id782889884

There are obviously a number of things that differ between Australia & the US for those of us into the hobby, so hopefully we now have a podcast that features those things unique to Australia.

We'll be releasing new monthly episodes next year & would love to hear any ideas for segments or discussion points that you think would be cool in the show. There's an EPISODE RUNDOWN at our FACEBOOK page & there'll be plenty more discussion there over the coming days & weeks.

Hit us up with any questions you have about the show on FACEBOOK, on TWITTER at @RODsaid or here of course! Look forward to chatting more about the show & PODcasting about pinball in Oz during 2014.

Cheers
Rod

GOOD CALL...

Rod, Gaz & Pinball Stevie reflect on where their love of pinball started in Australia, before declaring 2013 – YEAR OF THE PINBALL PODCAST! The team then look at the impact social media has on marketing pinball in 2013/14, before debating “WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST THING IN PINBALL FOR 2013″. And the nominees are…

•METALLICA LE selling out in hours
•WIZARD OF OZ begins shipping
•The emergence of an Australian pinball manufacturer with the THUNDERBIRDS LICENCE
•Planetary Pinball putting MEDIEVIL MADNESS back into production
•JOHN TRUDEAU joining STERN PINBALL

Finally a look forward to next year & next episode leaves us wondering could 2014 be bigger than 2013…NO WAY! Or could it?

Just finished listening to it all. A really well presented show and thoroughly enjoyed listening.

Great format and well structured with equal air time given to all topics.

Just shows that pinball has a future in Aus if you have people who are passionate about the hobby and in it for the right reasons.

It would be great if you could allocate some air time for a future show devoted to all aspects of the Canberra pinball scene if possible.  ^^^

Thanks for the plug Rod ! You really do have a great voice for radio. I enjoyed the podcast and I hope they become regular.

I was surprised (or I missed it) - John Trudeau is one of my favorite designers, and his designs at Gottlieb were very different from the Williams and Ballys of the era. My favorite table of his was SPIRIT. Both Spirit and CFTBL were amazing designs from this legend and I can't wait to see him let loose at Stern.

Thanks for taking the time to listen Pinsanity...and big thanks for the kind review! No question there'll inevitably be more about pinball in the nation's capital. But hopefully we can get an insight into what's happening around the country throughout the year with the use of various contributors as well. Keep the ideas coming  ^^^
Cheers

+1

Spirit was way ahead of its time and a chalenge to play. Not many made it down under and I was fortunate to play a new one all those years ago.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

Downloaded and ready to listen to it in the car on the way to work. Despite my addiction to technology, this is the first podcast I've actually downloaded in the podcast app on my phone.

Have also spread the word on Twitter and Facebook.

Cheers!
Adam.
