bally pop bumber removal

I have unscrewed as much as i can to remove the bumper, all that is left holding it to the table is the lugs from the globe fixture.

Before I go ahead and remove it - should I try and desolder the wire from the lug under the pf or just cut it and get a new one?

As for the red target to clean up can it be removed and replaced back easy?

Yeah just unsolder it and bent the lugs straight should come out with the bumper base then and as for the target should only be two screws then twist it sideways and it should come out.

Same as per Daniel's advise. The lamp holder just needs to be unsoldered. If it is in bad condition, file the area (tongue) where the bottom of the globe sits before resoldering it back in. You can buy these new.

Target can be removed very easily.

That is riveted on - Not necessary to remove the plastic post itself unless you plan on replacing the target. Then you will have to re rivet it back on.

this is correct.
if you notice behind the target there is an oval hole, you should be able to turn the target 90 deg and it should fit through that hole.

I wouldnt bother seperating the target from the switch if you cant get it looking good enough without seperating it id just buy a new one from one of our sponsors

when you go to solder the light socket back on put some cardboard between the wire and under side of the pf so you dont get flux and crap all over it ( the pf that is)

It should clean up really nice with Novus 2. Use Brasso beforehand on the rivet and the target will look new !

If the rivet is rusted or pitted, you will need a new rivet. Keep in mind - rivet press' are not cheap !
