topics appear when mouse hovers
« on: March 05, 2014, 08:56:43 PM »
A wierd title I know but don't know how else to describe.

When you hover the mouse over a topic a partly transparent window appears with details of the topic.  This is midly frustrating when viewing on my pc and serves no real purpose in my opinion.

But this is super annoying when viewing the forum on my phone - which I do a fiar bit. Do any members really like or use this feature?  If not can we turn it off?

Ive used tapatalk but don't really like it that much

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob, someone in the dim dark past asked specifically for this.

Personally, I agree with you, it's a feature that is not really compatible with hand held devices.

I'd support it being turned off unless there are members here with a different viewpoint?

Noted Rob.

I keep a list of some of the features that will not be moved across to the new software. I would assume the mods for this version of SMF won't be compatible with the recent version and any current mods that are not already features would need to be re - installed.

The upgrade will happen. As most are aware, I've been flat out and Nick and I have discussed the upgrade path.

I hate it too.  :P
I use my iPad a lot for web browsing and it's very frustrating.

Yeah,
I use an iPhone and go to click on a topic and it brings up the summary and then I usually have to refresh the page. Once the page is refreshed, I have to hold my finger down on the topic to open it.

Yeah, real pain on android tablet as well. Bloody thing comes up and covers a whole swag of topics. Then you need to touch somewhere else to piss it off. An ashtray on a motor bike is more usefull.

You are right, on a PC it is OK cause it works the way it should, appear and disappear with the movement of the mouse pointer. On touch screen devices it is a different story.
