some special people need the pinball communities help

Saw this on Pinside and thought to share. Sometimes we think we have it hard then you read about people enjoying pinball with more challenges in life than us and they want to help others.

small donation made - every bit counts.

Hi Everyone,

Please help the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Iowa (SCIAI) buy an adapted pinball machine for it's members.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wheelchair-accessible-pinball/x/6977685

A few weeks ago, member mg81 offered for sale, a pinball machine that had been converted for use by people in wheelchairs and disabilities. This type of conversion is pretty rare (only 15 of these were made in the mid-80s...who knows how many still exist) and it is expensive to do.

I have come to a fair agreement to buy the machine for use with my local Spinal Cord Injury Association...but we could use some help paying for it. This is a personal passion for me because my fiancee became a quadriplegic after an auto accident. She hasn't let that stop her from helping others, and volunteers many hours each week helping others find services and equipment and fighting for disability rights.

With this machine, we hope to help people with disabilities to access life. We plan to have this machine available for play at all SCIAI events throughout the state, available for local hospitals and rehab units, available for use by other non-profit organizations that deal with disabilities (Easter Seals, Paralyzed Veterans of America, etc...), and even allow persons with disabilities the option to have it set up in their home for a while. We have big plans!

We will have a plaque made with all donor names that will be affixed to the machine, to thank them for their contributions.

Please visit our Indiegogo campaign to help us share pinball with people who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

Thank you, and please pass this along.

Very worthy cause.

I donated once I read on pinside!

Best of luck to both to secure the machine.

Interesting - I tipped in as well but what interests me even more is that such a machine was actually made. I was not aware of them

I will keep that in mind.....
Replacement Pinball PCBs that remain faithful to the originals
