Was there a purpose to the deleted thread?

My opinion was that it was in poor taste

Damien, your PM was sent and this thread was started after midnight over here where the mods are.

The earlier thread was reported by a member (not Pop Bumper Pete although his reply above supports the other member's position) due to the comment accompanying the picture, and removed for that reason.
“If you wanna escape, go up to a pinball machine. There’s a magic button on the front that takes you to a world under the glass and makes the the rest of the universe disappear.”

You know exactly the reason why the thread was removed from view. We don't delete anything, we archive reported post and threads. As you can see, this thread remains as there is no accompanying comments in bad taste.

Spam threads - as in threads started by spam accounts - are simply automatically removed when we delete the account. All posts in spam threads are deleted as a result.
