when pinball does not matter
« on: July 28, 2014, 06:41:10 AM »
those that have read many of my posts probably worked out I am not you typical bloke - wear my heart on my sleeve and probably open up a bit too much - no point changing now. I don't drink drink, smoke or go to the pub and just a family man that enjoys pinball.

this morning for me is a massive one as luck would have it the last 12 months have been shit for my family and myself and many times I have questioned "does pinball matter" I have thought long and hard and I suppose the material things don't they are fun but I have learnt alot when it comes to family pinball rates very low due to some of the personal things I shared and others I haven't. What pinball has brought me is a few new mates through these forums that I was least expecting.

This morning is massive and scary as my 5 yr old daughter was rushed to hospital 3 1/2 days ago with a mystery illness and at times I wonder if the hospital actually know what they are doing. This morning she is finally being put in a MRI if she settles as yesterday they tried sedating her for a minor surgical procedure but she fought it. She needs to be calm so that they can find a potential disease that could be fatal and too be honest I am scared shitless. What started as a cold went to a virus in her hips in a week that now has her in so much pain we can't move her and now is quite possibly advanced to a bacterial infection that is possibly starting to eat at the bone lining or possible the bones in her hips which can cause irreversible damage. What is worse they talk of blood markers with figures of 5-200 - 5 being a healthly person to 200 being fatal and she has climbed to the 90's in 3 days. The larger danger and this it is me probably worrying me (as I tend to look at the worse given the various things of the last year) about my precious little girl is if if this illness goes from septic in one location to sepsis which then it could then float around her body and be fatal.

sorry for the rant but feeling quite lonely and scared.

It is good to have a hobby. You can use it as a release when you need a distraction from life

I wish your girl a swift recovery.

Sorry to hear of yet more bad luck for you and your family Jady .
Its awful when your kids are young and get sick , especially when you don't yet know exactly what is wrong with her .

I sure hope that you get some answers soon and that she recovers well

Nothing material matters in these situations. Our thoughts are with you in these rough times.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,
