ACT Wildcard Tournament Aug 16

GREAT NEWS for those in the ACT & the surrounding region! 

Thanks to Canberra's VICE CITY PLAYERS, it's your shot at qualifying for wildcard entry into the Australian Pinball Championship being held at PINFEST in Caves Beach, Newcastle on 27 & 28 September 2014.

Here's what you need to know;

WHEN - 6PM Saturday AUG 16
WHO - Open to all comers!
COST - $25 entry (inc pizza)
WHERE - CAPITAL PINBALL, 49 Vicars St, Mitchell ACT 2911
IFPA - accreditation to be confirmed...

Thanks for the invite.  Apart from the venue of the competition and the fact that Jose has absolutely nothing to do with AP (thankfully) and that typically the powers that run the Pinfest do their very best to keep anything related to Pinfest off AP, it may have been fun.

Thanks to carbonRod for driving this idea forward, this is gonna be a great opportunity to widen the pool of local players.

VCP is primarily a private group reliant on the goodwill of our private event hosts- Shane, Milo and Rod have hosted so far and deserve recognition with thanks. 

Hosting a public tournament is a large step forward. This will be the first public event hopefully leading on to events in other venues who are already interested.

In my usual style I will say, there's no need for anyone else to get too attached to the idea of gaining Wildcard entry cause its gonna be all mine!

In spite of the quick turn around it's all come together for this Saturday...IFPA points are up for grabs & obviously the coveted WILD CARD spot in the Australian Championships. If you're around this way, hope you can join us for a top night.

Good news folks,  we have just received a second Wildcard spot!

Due to space restrictions we have to limit the event to 30 players. It probably won't be a problem but please understand that a "HOUSE FULL" sign will be posted if it happens.

Great atmosphere & TOP NIGHT! Well done to all who participated in & supported the Australian Pinball Championships ACT WILDCARD Tournament last night at Capital Pinball! Extra BIG THANKS to Vice City Players PRES - ZED and the best COMP MASTER in Oz - James for making the night one of the best events of the year! 

ALSO - thanks to Jose for making the venue available...and CONGRATS for winning the night! Who says "home ground advantage" doesn't make a difference any more
