Project EM-any thoughts
« on: April 19, 2009, 05:47:12 PM »
I have 2 x DMD's 1 x SS and now I need a EM to complete the lineup!! What do you reckon my chances are of getting hold of a 2-player or 4-player EM that works but needs a clean up for under a grand?? I'm maybe after a bit of a project I can clean up but's already working-maybe something the lad and I can get into together. Hopefully in Melbourne to save on Transport. Thanks

Peter

Peter,

You will easily find a nice 2 player EM for around $1,000.

Only my opinion - but go with a Gottlieb  *%*

Also would suggest a single player Gottlieb EM rather than a multi player - still she is your call.

If you do go down the multi player path - a 2 player is the way to go. The 4 players are double the effort to get working properly (if you buy a project)

Ask all the questions you want, glad to see you have seen the light  *)*

Thanks for your ideas-I once owned a Playball and really only want a multi player so the kids can play but I'd sure consider a single player-From what I've red Gottliebs are the go.. Anyone got a EM working that wants a new home??

ah beware the dark side! na I would love to get an EM myself. What I miss most about them is all the sounds they make whilst setting-up for a new game (scores reseting, coil banks clunking etc). These things are just more alive than later machines (more live as well....zap f**kin ouch!) lol

I'm about to list a mint Gottlieb Mibs from 1969. Plug in a play. Collectors condition. Though it is a single player game

Backglass - mint, solid 10
Playfield - mylared 9.9
Cabinet has been respryed - 9

Lots of new parts: new score and instruction cards, pop bumpers, skirts and caps, new backglass animation balls, new coing entrance plates, mint set of plastics, new rollover guides etc. All chrome work sweet.

I'm asking $1500 but will sell to members here for $1400.

Yes it can .. all the original paintwork is there .. I need to pull it out to take pics of both sides of the cab which is why I haven't listed it yet (can't stop working on my Lady Luck  &&) but check out this thread to give you an idea Peter

Should repaint it myself , but had it a bit over 3 years and never got that far (too many other projects  %.%)

Pete - Project EM for under $1000 should not be an issue at all !

Spend some time looking at pictures so you get an idea of what might "jump out at you" !

Yes Marty your right he does want to help-so I need a machine that works that he can do some cleaning/rubbering and globe replacement and I can take some things apart and also learn-I love the sound of an EM and having one at home would really complimant my room..

Nino will checkout whats around and see if I can find a bargain && you never know whats out there..
