Final batch of WOZLE preorders are complete
« on: September 18, 2014, 02:16:10 PM »
"We are EXTREMELY happy to report that all of the pre-ordered Emerald City Limited Edition games have been completed! This is yet another milestone for JJP and while it may have taken a bit longer than anticipated, we are truly thankful to all the believers to stood by our side. Our goal has always been to deliver amazing pinball machines to our loyal and patient customers, and we will continue to do just this."

Surprised JJP is still around. PR disaster after disaster.

What's this model ? The "limited edition" of the "limited edition run" ?

It's no good having "believers" as the only people paying for the games are customers.

I give the guy credit for trying to broaden the market, but GS said years ago there just isn't room enough for another major pinball manufacturer especially given the current primary consumer base.

The idea was sound, but the implementation left a lot to be desired.

I think theres plenty of room in the market for another major pinball manufacturer and the number of WOZ presales prove that the market thought so too. Mike Homepin must also agree or he wouldn't have set up his factory which incidently will be making machines OEM for other companies. My take on it all is that there is PLENTY of room out there.
GS looks after GS and why wouldn't he? He doesn't want to see another manufacturer enter the market as it rocks his boat.. and rock it JJP did! I think its completely fair to say that the recent Stern games would never have come about had it not been for some healthy competition.. there were a few attempts by GS to sabotage JJP in the earlier days of production.
He needn't have done it though as JJP was its own worst enemy.
Jack himself hammered home every nail in his own coffin.. delays upon delays, the broken promises of first in, first served.. the Bumper debacle ( which of course no one OUTSIDE of Australia gives a shit about.. so long as it wasn't their precious money they couldn't give a rats)... the preorders of HOBBIT before WOZ was anywhere near finished.
Jacks insistance on doing his own PR was the worst PR decision he ever made!
JJP could have been so good and we all wanted it to be what it promised to be... but it fell woefully short.
So.. integrity completely lost JJP have put the crown on Sterns head and named them king of the market... Gary owes Jack so much.
But.. it did seem to open the floodgates and now we have more pinball manufacturers in the market then ever before.. number of manufacturers not seen since pre 2nd world war days. Most though are using off the shelf licenced parts.. namely WMS coils etc... only Homepin, JJP and Stern wind their own and are truly independent... Stern have been around for decades and are very comfortably established.. JJP talks but barely walks.. Homepin plays cards close to chest.
Anyway.. well done JJP for reaching a self set milestone even though along the way you lost all consumer confidence in your business.

I'll reserve my comment until I see how the hobbit release goes, give him the benefit of the Doubt now, the end of 2014 isn't far away then we will see & judge, i truly hope he can pull it off & we all move on & enjoy he's products, all the best to the WOZ owners

1 company gets 2-3 so so games out a year, the other company has one game out and little or no consumer confidence and the last one has no runs on the board at all as far as a completed machine goes .

But they still want you to trust them and take your money.

 :tumble:

Exciting times for pinball indeed.

Not even NASA with its trillions of dollars gets it spot on and on time on the first attempt. Jack did what he said he would do. I won't bust his balls because of delays because it's not like he did it meaningly. He gets a A for effort, a B for being behind and a A for a great machine. And another A for the worlds only current BNIB wide body. I always believe u have to walk in a mans shoes before you condemn him. I focus on what he has done, not what he hasn't. Everyone knows it was a start up and there are always delays. Shit happens. Jack has achieved. That's what matters. Even a basic lightbulb took many many years and many many thousands of attempts before we got light.
Jack and gang should be proud. Achievement and ahead of time rarely go hand in hand. Let's see the next JJP model. And the next n so on. Then the bigger picture can be judged so to speak. Enjoy WOZ in the meantime. Cheers.

I can't stand woz, it's a snoozefest and a waste of scratch imo.
But at least it's out there to play if you so desire.
