can u send a pic of the chip in socket?

I think i know which chip u mean, in a PLCC socket? in that case u need a claw, found at jaycar etc.

Or Futurlec http://www.futurlec.com.au/Tools-IC.jsp if you don't mind waiting for mail-order to arrive. Good for stocking up on electronic components at the same time.

The futurelec PLL tool was the "claw" i had in mind, i have a bunch of them, in every toolbox, very handy.

I bought a handful from Rockby (Vic) around $4-5each.
