TBL is a bloody spectacular looking machine with some pretty cool toys. What about HEIGHWAY? any news or video of Full throttle yet?

And even though the TBL purists would not agree but if they had a parental mode to turn the swearing off a heap more sales would happen allowing people that love bowling and the bowling atmosphere to enjoy it as well, could see this at bowling alleys being enjoyed.

It will have a parental/family mode, Dutch Pinball has confirmed this.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but in their seminar they said that if you pre-order by the 19th (tomorrow) you get all chrome hardware thrown in as well as the rug and other benefits. Scroll down on this page for more info:

Looks like you have finally found a brand new pinball to buy Gav ?

Is a pin made about a 16 year old movie really going to sell in high numbers or are the builders happy with any target reached ? Does anyone know if they have a target in mind for sales ?
The movie had a great cast I do admit, but will the pinball look dated (16 yrs) when its set up in your games room ?
Its a weird one cause I don't know of any other pinny manufacturer who has successfully sold a licence that is already 16 yrs past its introduction date.
I hope they sell heaps. The more pinball machines working around the planet the better.

Wonder if anyone else will bring out a title that reflects a movie from times gone past.
Interesting to see if it works and catches on.
Some of the mechanisms on TBL seem very detailed. Well done if it takes off.

I have never seen the movie Cavey, but the game looks and sounds incredible.

As for the age it's pinball and we are all reliving our youth. I have Congo and CFTBL at home and never seen both movies (one being over 50 years old) but love the games. How old is Predator as it sold it's limited run of 200 or 250 (can't remember which). Homepin is doing his pin which is based off an old show. Heighway are going to be doing Alien. Stern with Tron though they did bring it out on the remake everyone loved it because of the old original version in the 80's. TBL may cost a little more than a hobbit or Stern LE but the quality and interactive toys is greater.

Hate to say it but before you were pointing out the negative people with Stern, it now sounds like you are a little on the half empty side on TBL.

nothing wrong with the old stuff especially if a great movie or has a great following. Heaps of people are wanting Ghostbusters and thats another old one perfect for a fun pinball.

That looks awesome, great picks, thanks for link Swinks. Yes, I must agree, pinball and themes are a continual reflection of the times, regardless of age. Making something that was conceived years ago just reinforces the fact that it is popular or it has potential in someone's eyes. Mata Hari was long dead before a pinball brough her fame back to life. I am sure every other pinball,song or thing made by man can paint a similar story. Why, even Gary is itching to get back to the factory with ideas he picked up at the expo.

There are plenty that sold well  a long time after their introduction date. TBL is a bit different as not being what I would think of as mainstream....

Plenty of old themes (that were still kicking around at the time of the game introduction) - eg Bally and DE Star Trek, Superman,  TSPP, AC DC, Doctor Who, Monopoly, Playboy x 3, The Incredible Hulk.

Here as some others that seemed to do OK -

1980 Buck Rogers - 1928, sold 7410
1995 Scared Stiff  - Cassandra started in the early 1980's, sold 4,028 units
1981 Flash Gordon  - 1934, 10,000 units
2003 Elvis Introduction date 1953
1993 Rocky & Bullwinkle -  1959, sold 5,500 units
1993 The Who's Tommy Pinball Wizard - 1975, sold 4,700 units

Drum roll –
1993 Twilight Zone Introduction date 1959 – sold 15,235 units
