I have never seen the movie Cavey, but the game looks and sounds incredible.

As for the age it's pinball and we are all reliving our youth. I have Congo and CFTBL at home and never seen both movies (one being over 50 years old) but love the games. How old is Predator as it sold it's limited run of 200 or 250 (can't remember which). Homepin is doing his pin which is based off an old show. Heighway are going to be doing Alien. Stern with Tron though they did bring it out on the remake everyone loved it because of the old original version in the 80's. TBL may cost a little more than a hobbit or Stern LE but the quality and interactive toys is greater.

Hate to say it but before you were pointing out the negative people with Stern, it now sounds like you are a little on the half empty side on TBL.

I did say I hoped they sold heaps
And did say the toys were very detailed and that TBL was good for pinball.
I asked the question about older movies and pins cause I couldn't think of any. Although most of the ones mentioned were shows or series, it does make sense now that such a decent list of remakes have done well.
Wasn't negative just lookin for answers which I got which is awesome.
Maybe Stern will start making remakes etc after the Whoa Nellie project starting next year. Good news if remakes can become the norm. To all the guys who added examples of successful remakes, thankyou.

On remakes, T6MDM will have to become T6BDM with inflation.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

Looks like you have finally found a brand new pinball to buy Gav ?

Nah.. not yet. Theres a shed extension to be built first. TBL will be around for a while and I want to see what Mike presents first. Even with the extension, ill be shoe horning any new games in.

Predator - 1987
Alien - 1979
Thunderbirds - 1964

Why wouldn't you base games on older movies? The right demographics

There are plenty that sold well  a long time after their introduction date. TBL is a bit different as not being what I would think of as mainstream....

Plenty of old themes (that were still kicking around at the time of the game introduction) - eg Bally and DE Star Trek, Superman,  TSPP, AC DC, Doctor Who, Monopoly, Playboy x 3, The Incredible Hulk.

Here as some others that seemed to do OK -

1980 Buck Rogers - 1928, sold 7410
1995 Scared Stiff  - Cassandra started in the early 1980's, sold 4,028 units
1981 Flash Gordon  - 1934, 10,000 units
2003 Elvis Introduction date 1953
1993 Rocky & Bullwinkle -  1959, sold 5,500 units
1993 The Who's Tommy Pinball Wizard - 1975, sold 4,700 units

Drum roll –
1993 Twilight Zone Introduction date 1959 – sold 15,235 units

surprised you left off Monster Bash

FULL THROTTLE by Heighway pinball surprised a lot of people by the sounds of it  @@*
Back box was said to be a bit NAF but the game was fast, innovative and original.
Hope to play one one day and with Aliens coming, cooooool.
Wonder how much and who the distributor will be for our great land?
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

Both Dutch Pinball and Heighway scoring goals at expo this year it would seem. Talk though is of DP setting the bench mark for the other manufacturers.
Pre sales?.. they were queuing up to sign on the dotted line.

TBL certainly looks like the bar has been raised to me.
I really hope DP continue down this line of adult themed pins.

And AFM is you consider that the theme is based on many cheesy 1950's Sci Fi movies. Makes you realise how creative Williams really were in bringing some old themes back to life.

wow! 400  pre sales at Expo alone?... That is phenomenal.
Thread on Pinside had pre orders at 76 before Expo.
Add to this further orders and then rest of world and its a sure fire winner

How can anyone really know any real figures ? 400 is a big call .....?? Were people paying deposits when they were signing up.? If so, does anyone know how much the deposits were ?
I am going to rent the movie cause I remember the cast, but not the movie. Maybe that will answer some questions about the pinball design.

I don't know much about Dutch Pinball but do they have a factory like JJP or Stern or are they going to get the machines made by another manufacturer ?
If they have a factory, does anyone have a link to a video or photos of their factory.
Is there any info on how they have raised capital to get a workforce together like JJP have and what about tooling etc.
Are they using planetary pinball parts or doing their own etc.

They have a massive task ahead of them IF they have anything close to 400 pre-orders etc.
Have they given delivery dates ? Etc.

They seem to have thought outside the square with TBL.
I never thought a 16 yr old movie title would work but it seems to be very popular.
Is there a single owner of Dutch Pinball or is it a consortium of people ?
How long have they been around for ?
As I said, I know little about them.

Do they have any big USA names on their design team. Whoever designed TBL must be clever and have some good experience. Maybe someone could start a Dutch Pinball thread and cover a lot of this stuff for members who may want to know more incase they wanted to buy a TBL Pinball.
