Bally Wizard solenoid locking on
« on: February 20, 2016, 01:23:49 PM »
Hi guys,

After a heap of games I have developed a problem where a solenoid locks on when Flag 2 is activated and flips. It basically flips the flag 3 quarters of the way and locks on.
Not sure where to look with this one but I started by cleaning the coil and replacing the sleeve. I thought it may have been dirty and getting stuck but it actually wasn't to bad to start with. Any advise appreciated.

This is the flag, I'm holding it in the approximate location that is freezing with the coil locked.

This is the assembly from underneath

Side on of the assembly. There is 4 of these coils in the assembly and while It's not this particular coil that's locking it is one just like it.

Do you have the schematics, Adam ?

There will be a relay triggering that coil. I'll bet that needs to be cleaned an gapped.

Hi Nino, no I don't have the schematics unfortunately. I was thinking it must be something sticking or in need of a clean. It happened once and then not again for several games and then it happened a few more times. I've quickly switched it off each time but obviously want to get to the bottom of the problem.
