Photo of awesome custom pinball trolley
« on: November 05, 2014, 01:57:43 AM »
I played in the Belgian Open Pinball tournament last month and there was an operator there who supplied a portion of the 80 machines on offer. He made up this custom trolley that he said is far superior to standard trolleys. He slides it in from the front of the machine then lifts up like a lever. The bar above the wheels is 2/3 of the way to the back of the machine, the arm with the handle takes the weight of front of the machine which rests on it.

I would like to see how this works in real life. The handle looks like it would hit the front.

I agree with Mike...looks like some of it is missing.  !@#

I need a trolley with wheelbarrow wheels on it so I can easily move all the pins from the house to the garage and back so I would also love to see it in action.

That's the whole lot. Slide the trolley in from the front, then lift up. The handle lifts the front of the cabinet. The result is the entire machine is off the ground and then you wheel it around. He's an operator and he says this is the best trolley he has ever used and he's tried them all.

So does the front of the machine rest of the horizontal bit or the angled up bit? Due to the fact it is a small surface area i would be a bit worried it might make an indent in the bottom of the front panel of the cab

For a personal machine you would want a flat plate on top of the handle to distribute the weight a bit better as the handle might tend to dig in, quite often operators aren't to fussed about dings and scrapes

Thanks for posting, G.  ^^^

Trolley appears compact and easy to transport so looks ideal for either intra-country tournament use and moving machines from location to location for an operator.

Yeah seems ok but as Rob said I would think it would leave a nice little indentation in the cab. Adding a plate would be the go but as an operator he wouldn't be that worried I guess.

Had me a little puzzled as well but found a similar one on the net and I guessing it slides under a machine on it's legs, is height adjustable to suit the different eras and then lift, lifting the game with the handle roughly popping out just in front of the front of machine / coin door. Like a segway have the vertical frame and wheels located under the cabinet in the perfect Centre of Gravity point and wheel around. though can't see this used at steps, staircases etc but for a pinball show and through a pub could be ideal.

But I am totally guessing as couldn't find any pics of it being used so I could be way off.

Yeah, I reckon the handle and the bar above the wheels would put small dents in the bottom of the cabinet. If you are an operator, there are much bigger dings all over the cabs. For a private collection, I would put some rubber around the contact points.
