Sandbelt Moorabbin Vic
« on: November 16, 2014, 07:57:29 PM »
My local is the Sandbelt hotel in Moorabbin.  It is a massive pub that is under used.  An ACDC premium turned up from Zacs. I suggested to the managers they look at making a pin area.  They put in a few power points and asked me what machines I would like.  I nominated the walking dead.  It turned up this week and is a blast to play.  Really good fun.  The pub is happy to have a pin section and can accomodate up to 10 pins.  If your in the area drop in.  The current line up is an acdc premium, fish tales and walking dead.  The more people that put a coin through the more machines they will get.

What an awesome story ! We need more "forward thinking" people (like Rads) and places that will accommodate a pin section. Great that Zac's listened as well. Get an AC/DC and Metallica in there and get the place pumping !

They have added a Southpark.  4 on site now.  Almost enough to keep me from the pokies

first time post, i checked the place out a week or so ago and the walking dead machine is hidden away from the acdc, fish tales and south park it wasn't until i was leaving that i saw it. lucky i had a few dollars left in my pocket.

Do they have any tournaments there?
im terrible at pinball but it would be good to meet others who share my enthusiasm my mates are just not interested in pinball

Thanks for the heads up about the bayside pinball club, I was actually planning on heading to that this month to check it out. Is it a friendly environment? Just a bit worried due to being very new to pinball as a hobby, i am very bad at posting any sort of a decent score.

is there any places in melbourne where you can pay x amount of money and play on free play that anyone is aware of?

hopefully ill run into you at kings at the end of the month

You'll be right, it's all about having fun and playing pinball. Doesn't matter what you score but it's fun to compete. You might surprise yourself, have a few good balls and make the finals!
You can always go to Kings over the next couple of weeks and have a practice on the three machines they have there.
Not many other venues in Melb have more than a couple of machines (that I know of) and none have pay $x for unlimited play. $5 for 3 games is standard but there are a few venues where it's $1 a play.
Check the Melbourne Pinball Finder for an up to date list.

They have added a TAF to make a total of 5 machines. They have moved the games to a massive area out the back of the sportsbar where grab a granny used to be.
