Replacing wood cabinet panels?

Replacing wood cabinet panels?

Are there any threads here that show the work needed to replace the back panel and/or bottom panel on an early Bally SS (Eight ball)?

The sides and front are fine, no rust on any metal, but the machine seems to have been stored less than perfectly. The back panel is swollen, and the bottom seems to have water stains

Just would like to see how much work was involved

Thanks
Pete

I've done a few over the journey. A MASSIVE amount of work. Good news is that VERY soon, replacement cabinets will be available.  #@#

This thread covers it in more detail. For the record, I will not be replacing these back panels any longer..

+1.

I cannot wait to see the finished product on these.  I was lucky enough to secure a WPC-95 cabinet (brand new) from these guys and the quality was outstanding and the finish perfect.

I think for those looking to restore high end machines (inc 80's Bly/Williams etc) its a most worthy alternative.

Ive done a few back panels and it is not a straight forward job. The mitre cuts are a real pain to replicate.
Not something I plan on doing again..

Shouldn't be too difficult for a CNC.

CNC 2.5 axis can easliy do 45 degree with a 45 bit.
