Yeh AD in the paper is the way to go. I place one often. havent picked up anything for a while though.

Youll definately pick up project games, thats why they get sold on - game dies and sits there looking messy and eventually the wife wants it out. Divorce or seperation circumstances can lead to really cheap pins. i once picked up 2 for $10. Lady refused to take anymore money than that. Of course this was done to REALLY piss off the ex husband, his loss - my gain. My first 30's pin came from one of my ads too.

One problem here though - most of the sellers have scrolled through Ebay and are convinced that the pin is a retirement fund. As such, ive found that responses to ads have fallen dramatically or ridiculous prices being asked.

But heres a run down of some of what ive picked up through ads.

Lost World - $120
Zac magic castle - $170
Flash - $150
Firepower - $100 ( had termites!!)
Judge Dredd - $400

..and the best one of all .... Gtb Solar Ride + Gtb Top Score - $10

Good luck - i only posted this as i saw you are NOT Brisbane based - dont want too much competition!!! LOL!! ^^^

thanks for the info, add in the paper might work, ill give it a try. i hope no one from Brisbane reads this post %.% %.%

some good prices there, but as you say people are aware of ebay etc so expect more than its worth

cheers Ian

Thanks nino, I liked Pinball Magic from the first game I ever played on it. I have TOM as well and dare say that I like the PM a bit more.

Favourite games include Funhouse, Wh2o, Pinball Magic. Must say my interest is heading towards Gottlieb system 80's after acquiring one and then being introduced to another members collection.

Yes - I think I know the collection you speak of  ^^^

Amazing how you see other collector's machines and you have the opportunity to spend some time acquainting yourself with games you really never rated ??

Pinball Magic and Funhouse are two games I really like after playing Dave's.. Not to mention Striker Extreme...

System80's ??? I had none 2 months ago. Now I have four  <.>

Striker Extreme doesn't get a lot of love but it should. It's an excellent game, good fun and cheap too for a late model DMD. Pretty good bang for your back.

Could not have said it any better. Striker Extreme is a LOT of fun.. Greg is a HUGE fan of SE, and I'm a convert as well. They go for a fraction of the price of the others you mention.

WH2O is also a great game.

oh well ill see what happens, it all depends on prices as to which way i go, plus i just put an ad in the local news paper wanting to buy working or non working pins, i dont hold out much hope as the pin trade in Tassie has never been big.

There was a nice Paragon on eBay about 18 months ago - from Tassie. I don't recall if it sold or not..

Best of luck, Ian - let us know how you go.

Youll be suprised what crops up from an ad in the paper. There are non working pins in garages all over the place. Ive even seen one on the side of the road for the council pick up. Went back to get it and it was gone!
