Help diagnosing flipper issues
« on: April 02, 2015, 11:48:29 PM »
I have an issue with a demo man, rebuilt the flippers however using the coils that came with the machine.
up until i tore the machine down, flippers were operating as expected.

Fired up the game tonight to test and noticed that the top left flipper does not hold in the up position despite the button being pressed.
upon doing a flipper test in the menu system, notice that the hold test does not work at all for the upper left flipper, and is extremely weak on the lower right flipper. Lower left flipper works as it should.

Any ideas?

i just noticed there are no diodes on the upper left flipper coil.
both lower flipper coils do have diodes.

upon closer inspection, the upper left coil appears damaged, i'll replace it, and the lower right coil and see where we land.... not what i wanted.

Verify that the correct coils are in the game - that would be my first step.

B/W flipper coils must have diodes for both windings.
