Marty just looking at some of the old resto threads & wondered if there's any news on the hs2? I'm looking fwd to seeing full bright-colour on it when decals applied (I love this machine, am trying to find a nice one for myself).
I enjoy Porsche, Gibson LPs, Bally-Williams & learning about pinball maintenance & restoration.

Still just prep on cabinet at this stage.  I am hoping to get some primer on it over the next couple of weeks then paint.  Will update asap.

Time for an update.  Yes it has sat completely dormant for over 12 months now.  Feeling guilty I have progressed slightly.

Cab has been prepared for the initial primer.  Lots more sanding and fine filling to go.  Sometimes its difficult to see just how much you have to do until the primer is on...

I've spent the last couple of days sanding, fine filling and priming etc.  Finally got some colour down.

Yes, I went with a gloss black.  It was a spur of the moment change, as I was planning to go just flat, but its only for me so don't care.  I had forgotten just how much work goes into these and the last full rebuild I did I just purchased a new cab, already painted and decaled from Tim at HRP.  In hindsight a much much easier option!

I managed to get rid of most of the timber grain and is a reasonable base for the decal.  I could have gone down the sand / prime / sand / prime path probably another 4 times to achieve a glass finish but kinda pointless   !@#

Anyhoo, a couple of pics with colour on.  Bit of orange peel in the paint but I'll flatten it down prior to decals going on.
