Biggest problem is calibrating it to start with. How do you know what's level in your house or garage??? OK, so you need a manual level to calibrate the iPhone but if you have to get the manual level out then you may as well use it...

You're right but the i-phone gives a digital readout of the angle, so you can adjust until you get 6.5 deg or maybe adjust it to suit your playing preference.
Still loving my Metallica Premium

Ah, yes, most cheaper levels won't give you an angle reading, so you do get an advantage there. Will have to borrow my wife's again and try that out some time.

Bill Gates hates iphones !*!, Steve jobs from apple loves them.

As for the calibration, find a reasonable flat surface and it takes 2 readings to calibrate. seems pretty accurate. eg you use a slope with 5' angle, press calibrate 1 rotate phone 180' press calibrate 2 and it calculates what level 0' is.
