Williams Argosy EM restoration
« on: March 10, 2024, 04:35:11 PM »
Hi all,
Finally, after a few false starts, I am about to begin my first restoration, a Williams EM Argosy from 1977. It has a few unexpected features. The use of a car fuse in place of a regular fuse, an extra ceramic resistor here and there
and the cabinet (which is a bit wonky) has been re-stencilled, but not on the cabinet wood, but onto some 3mm board which has been screwed to the cabinet. However the playfield is great and the back glass not bad for its age.
Also the score motor continuously runs, so I expect I will start with the score counter contacts and cleaning the score reels themselves. It has to be done sometime, might as well start with it.

I've seen some weird things in my time, but that fuse holder is scary !

Score motor continuously running is the reset cycle not completing. Could be the score reels not resetting.
