Medieval Madness wanted
« on: November 15, 2018, 06:28:19 AM »
Thinking of purchasing a Medieval Madness Remake from the next run, but thought I would see if there were any originals floating around for sale first.
Cheers,
Matt.

Matt have you played a remake yet.  It does feel a little different to the original.  I couldn't put my finger on it but a couple of mates reckon there's  a definite delay in the flipper response time.  Might pay to have test play beforehand

Definitely a difference in the flippers. Play one before deciding.  *%*

Got my original up for sale at the moment. New repro  playfields fitted, cabinet totally original with a few age related marks, colour DMD,  professionally painted castle looks amazing .
Only one small problem I'm in the UK..

I played an AFMR and I thought it was great, no problem with the flippers. I guess if you had them side by side you might notice the difference

I know AFM intimately for many years, and put quite a few games on AFMR. While the overall feel of the AFMR seemed to lack something, flipper response was not an issue.

They debunked the flipper lag on pinside:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/why-remakes-dont-play-like-originals

It’s a long thread but in the end the remakes have the same lag as the originals.
Some of them did ship with shorter flipper plungers, maybe that would explain the difference??
