Another progress update;
Now that the cabinet is painted, pedestal repainted and fitted,
Cabinet hardware assembly started!
Side rails regrained and back on.
Backglass in, refurbished backbox mech panel refitted.
Coin door components; these had been done in hammered metal silver, which besides the fact i never liked the look of hammered metal paint on this on this style door, it was done really BADLY. It looked like someone had clearcoated them with varnish or something, they had a yellowed look to them and looked awful!
I paint stripped the parts, sprayed them with etch primer, followed by silver acrylic and finally a clearcoat over the silver.
Apron stripped and repainted, ready for the Pinball rescue decal!
Tilt mech was really crappy looking so it was dismantled for cleaning and polishing
Polished up as best as i could manage.. not great but a big improvement on what it was!!
More painting progress, The legs too were badly painted in an ugly grey which was falling off. The owner's budget wasn't high enough for new legs ( if i could even find them!!), or rechroming these ones, and they were in a pretty bad state under the paint anyway, i opted to paint them hammered metal silver to save some time and money.
The timber rails for the playfield were sanded and clearcoated as well.
