XENON has arrived
« on: May 19, 2009, 02:51:21 PM »
Well as the title suggests my Xenon has arrived, delivered about 11 oclock so have had a tinker with it already.
tested the power supply before switching it on, everything seemed to be in speck, i done a general inspection
of the machine, everything seemed ok so i powered it up, everything ok so had a couple of games.

the cabinet is a bit rough will need to be resprayed i think 5/10
play field is filthy, a little bit of wear, a couple sunken inserts 7.5/10
back glass is perfect as far as i can see 9.5/10

scores may change as i look at it further, some pics for you.

Ian.

Nice score, Ian  @@*

There's looks to be a bit of playfield "wear" between her legs near the flippers. What would be your initial plans to repair ?

Grats, and you did great for money! I would be happy to have paid more for it in that condition.

and they delivered for no extra cost, if i had got it from Vic or NSW then it would have been another 3 to 400 dollars

At this stage i would try to build it up and paint the area, its not to detailed in that area.

Ian,

You did real well....this game would of been hammered in the arcades.

She looks like a great game as she is. Well done and I'm bet you are happy you took a stab at this!

yes very happy with it, the cabinet will need a bit of work, and the rest a good clean up.

Agreed. Awesome looking backglass.

I'd be more inclined to keep the regular chasing bulbs around the outside. Replace the 4 in the middle with yellow 44's and replace the bulbs around the ring with blue 44's.

Damn it. shut up already!. I want one!  %.%

looks like it had started to wear and the op has then covered the play field with a full mylar, thank god for mylar(in a way) other wise this play field would be complete shit. So i may remove the mylar and then do some touch ups, but not yet for a while, i think i will listen to some think music for a while on this one, may look into a clear coat.

How bad is the Mylar Ian?

Is it dull or starting to lift.

The mylar on my Police Force was quite dull.  I gave it a hit with the polishing kit from Treasure-Cove and it got quite a nice shine to it.  Not like brand new, but certainly lost the dullness.

I've read elsewhere that some Xenon playfields are on their way to Australia as well.

I really want one of these too, along with a HH to go alone side the BH once its done...Just sitting ajacent to a Hyperball too (one day!)

thought i might try and polish it a bit first, no lifting or bubbling at all.
