Bill picked up the machine and it has been delivered to it's new owner, so I can now post the "bling" photos of the restored game. Feedback has been positive, so another happy customer !

Here are the final photos - Not much in the way of commentary, but feel free to ask questions. Might be a good idea to look at the start of the thread to see some of the "before" photos. I will comment on the cabinet photos, as the Next Gen decals were not available at the time and we had to use on equivalent - but it is different.

BLING !

At the time of this Restoration, we had three IJ re-decal jobs to quote, and this was the only "full restoration". At the time, the Next Gen IJ set was basically unobtanium as it was on eBay for $700 and was "The very last set". This "last set" was listed for well over a year, but in my case, I needed three sets. Strange. I knew a couple restorers that used the Next Gen set (funny, as there was only "one left"), and there were issues with the sides lining up and the front decal was too short. There was an alternative in Europe that other restorers were using and were much happier with at 1/3 the price. The sides lined up with the front, and the colors were much better. The options were provided to the customers and all three were enthusiastic about the cheaper (better) set. There was one issue, the headbox decal was "mirrored". But it still did not discourage the customers. At the end of the day, you play the machine, not stare at the head decals ! The ONLY option was these decals or nothing. I bring this up now as there were some deranged individuals that can't understand logic, or customer requests.

New Lockdown Bar and receiver look great. The widebody lock down bars were unavailable for almost 9 months !

.. and the playfield. A SPECIAL thanks to Geoff Wills on this playfield restoration and clearcoat. He completed this playfield before relocating to QLD, so it is one of his earliest projects. It turned out perfect !

The Idol is a repro from PPS that was removed from the market as it was not the right color and it was not decorated. I repainted it GOLD and hand painted the black lines. It turned out really good !

PPS repro Fighter and Bi-Plane. The only "let down" on this project was the quality of some of the new parts. The Fighter Jet looks like it was painted by a 5 year old with crayons. This are NLA, so I'm happy that at least I had them for this restoration well ahead of time.

Just look at that clearcoat !

And we are done !

Again - Thanks to Geoff Wills for the Playfield restoration. All parts used were obviously from RTBB  #@#

Thanks for looking !

Saw Bill had two IJ's on next to my Sunset riders when he was here. So jealous, after playing one at Pinfest this year it was the star of the show for me. I loved it. Second best for me was Soprano's. I'd love to find one of those.

Such a beautiful job mate.
Looking for Bally Space Invaders, Stern Orbitor 1

Yes, he still does Playfields last time I spoke to him. This Playfield was done 1-2 years ago before he relocated to QLD.
