Gottlieb Spin a Card 1969
« on: May 24, 2009, 08:02:50 PM »
Well 24 hours is a long time in a 40 year old pinball machine  *%*

Started on the restoration thred today. After last nights disaster of the paint lift after removing the mylar figured it was like 'getting back on the hourse after being thrown'. So went out today and removed the rest of the mylar and the results were very pleasing!

So while waiting for the Thoro-Bred playfield to get shipped in from the USA this will be the 'now' project. Will put together an order for PBR over the next few days.

Here is a series of pix to show where this game is now

Backglass is near mint - an easy 9.9 - was worried that the Spin-a-Card text was faded over time but all glasses on IPDB are the same. Very cool Gordon Morison (R.I.P.) art - wonder what drug he was taking when he painted this  ^^^

Here is a closeup of the disaster from Saturday night - so happy the rest of the mylar came up with no dramas - take note of the shine from the neon lights just above the disaster zone - rest of the playfield is minty  #*#

Very, very happy with the end result - the mylar came up no problem. Mint playfield under and all major concerns were let go today. This old girl will end up looking near new after full restoration!

Just glue residue left on the playfield now and nothing that ME wont fix up further with a full clean.

What a cool looking game!

Thanks again Paul for hooking me up with this!

Right on Daniel,

Was thinking that today - out of all the card faces glad it was that one! Easily the easiest to fix...but still pissied off that it happened!
