Yeah Peter, you would suspect the PF was exposed to weather at some stage to help it along. How many Flash Gordons appearing on ebay of late!

Pitted pinballs?

Looks like a resto the seller or someone before him/her has given up on - check the cabinet.

Agreed Peter

Looked at that last night and just shook my head

Either way it's very sad but on the other hand 10 - 15 years ago this game would of been parted out.

So on a positive note the game will be saved

I believe Classic Playfields are reproducing this playfield - might be worth shooting them an email if you are interested in the game

looks like water - the wood itself is cracking and separating and the bare wood is stained

it couldn't go much above the current price before it becomes an expensive project - it needs a new PF plain and simple - and that aint gonig to be easy to find or cheap.

The rest of it actually doesn't look too bad and the boards look ok too (in as much as a phot can really tell you

Its had a hard life....Shame.

To be fair to the seller, at least he hasn't tried it with the usual lines of 'playfield has some wear, typical for its age' or 'that sh*t will buff out'....

The other thing that's a worry is the missing fuses.  A fuse normally blows when there's an intense current situation, this could mean something has shorted in the machine.  From personal experience the only time I ever blew fuses in my machines was when I would accidentally drop a screwdriver in the base of the machine.  The fact that these fuses are actually missing is a bit of a worry and could potentially mean that they were removed to subvert any discussion about the machine's operation ;)

Either way if I was buying this I'd be thinking blown power stage or transformer problem.
